Palatine police arrest Rockford man on drug charge
A Rockford man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Palatine, police said.
Carmen Escobar, of the 200 block of Royal Avenue, was charged Aug. 9 with one count of felony unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
Escobar was stopped as part of an ongoing, coordinated investigation, according to a Palatine Police Department news release. A search of his vehicle revealed a vacuum-sealed bag containing more than 500 grams of cocaine, police said.
Escobar is being held on $300,000 bail and must post 10 percent to be released while his case is pending. He is next due in court Sept. 1 in Rolling Meadows.
