Aurora man dies in Geneva motorcycle crash

A 61-year-old male motorcycle rider from Aurora is dead after he struck a vehicle on Fabyan Parkway outside the Settler's Hill Golf Course in Batavia Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.

The Aurora man was driving his 2006 black Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Fabyan Parkway when he failed to stop at the intersection outside the entrance to the golf course and crashed into a Chevrolet pickup truck, according to a news release from the Geneva Police Department. The man was ejected from his motorcycle in the crash.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was rushed by ambulance from the scene to Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release from the Batavia Fire Department.

The driver of the other vehicle was a 62-year-old South Elgin man, according to Geneva police. He was uninjured in the crash and was released at the scene.

The crash is being investigated by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team and the Geneva Police Department. Because the investigation is ongoing, officials are not speculating if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.

The victim is now the seventh motorcyclist to die in a Kane County crash since July 1.
