France, world must get real on terror

Speaking at the scene of the attack in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray recently, Frency President Francois Hollande said the terror group had declared war on France.

He added that the state should "use all its means" within the law to fight ISIS, against which France has launched airstrikes in Syria and Iraq.

"All means within the law" - what does that mean? Has France then declared war on ISIS? And if war has been declared, the murderer who cut off the head of the 84-year-old priest should have been in a prisoner-of-war camp. He was a well-known enemy in that he was "electronically monitored" and the "honor system" forced him to spend nights at home.

How many more of France's enemies of war are on the honor system?

"All means within the law." Might I suggest the law is there to protect us, the citizens, not facilitate our enemies within. If war is to be fought, fight it.

This latest murderer was a known enemy, electronically monitored. It's time France and the rest of us wake up.
