Wheaton man hit by DuPage deputy's stun gun

A 34-year-old Wheaton man was on the receiving end of a DuPage County sheriff's deputy's stun gun Monday morning.

Anthony Ramirez, of the 26W000 block of Armbrust Avenue is charged with indirect civil contempt of court, direct criminal contempt of court and resisting or obstructing a police officer.

The deputy was monitoring courtroom 2011 at roughly 9:30 a.m. as Judge Thomas Else ordered Ramirez be taken into custody for indirect civil contempt. Officials said Ramirez was a party to a child-custody case at the time of his arrest.

Officials said Ramirez was ordered to comply and wouldn't cooperate. The deputy deployed his stun gun and Ramirez was arrested and picked up the additional charges.

Ramirez is expected to appear in bond court Tuesday morning.
