Team USA won both its best ball matches against Japan on Saturday to advance to Sunday's concluding singles competition of the UL International Crown at the Merit Club.

The U.S. was in jeopardy after going 0-2 vs. England on Thursday but won three of a possible four points on Friday and took all four available on Saturday when Stacy Lewis and Gerina Piller defeated Mika Miyazato and Haru Nomura 3 and 1 and Lexi Thompson and Cristie Kerr whipped Ai Suzuki and Ayaka Watanabe 4 and 2.

England still won Pool B with nine points with the U.S. second with seven. The top two teams in both four-team pools, plus one wild card team, advance to the singles portion of the competition.
