Wheaton garbage decision good for all

Having been present at the Tuesday, July 5, Wheaton City Council meeting to hear the presentation to the city council members and the public by the staff regarding the garbage collection options for Wheaton, I thought the chosen option to be a good option for all of us.

We have many options for each household in how we pay, how many times we will actually use the services for just garbage, just recycled bins, yard waste and even the food scrape option. Using the chip process means no more purchasing the waste stickers and the pick up charges will be less than we have been paying through the sticker use.

While we may have thought our recycle bin pick up was free, actually we have been paying for this through other charges.

I have high respect for the Wheaton staff who have looked the applications over well and made their recommendations. The council vote was unanimous with no objections presented. This told me they are very satisfied. There was one council absentee due to vacation, Ms Fitch.

I appreciate the care our council gives to us as residents on such issues and support this decision.
