Elgin gas station clerk robbed at gunpoint
Elgin police are seeking information about a suspect after a gas station clerk was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night.
Officers were called to the Circle K, 460 S. McLean Blvd., just after 8 p.m. The store clerk told police a man came into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register, according to a news release from the police department.
The suspect is described as a white man, about 18 to 25, 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a black sweatshirt and shorts. He left on foot, and the store clerk was not injured. the release said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the crime line at (847) 695-2600, text 847411 and including ELGINPD at the beginning of the message followed by the tip or information.
