Schaumburg Twp. Library hosting programs for kids

The Schaumburg Township District Library will continue its summer programs for children and tweens during the second half of July at its Hoffman Estates and Hanover Park branches.

Both branches will host Scales and Tales Traveling Zoo in July. Families can meet exotic animals from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 18, at 1550 Hassell Road in Hoffman Estates, or from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 25, at 1266 Irving Park Road in Hanover Park.

Family Game Day is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 19, at the Hoffman Estates branch, where board, card and group games will be played.

Tweens ages 9 to 12 can try their hand at "Pendulum Painting" from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the Hoffman Estates branch or from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Hanover Park branch. Participants will go outside to create artistic designs using paint-filled pendulums.
