Palatine to host final public workshop on downtown plan

The final community workshop discussing the new transit plan for downtown Palatine is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at village hall, and residents and business owners are invited to attend.

The plan for Palatine's downtown, not examined since the start of the Great Recession, is getting a fresh look by the village and the Regional Transportation Authority.

The plan will focus on downtown improvements that encourage the use of the public transit systems and identify ways to pair economic development with transportation improvements.
