Municipal board officers elected

Members of the Lake County Municipal League have elected Hawthorn Woods Mayor Joe Mancino as president of the 2016-17 board of directors. Wadsworth Mayor Glenn Ryback was elected the board's vice-president, while Libertyville Mayor Terry Weppler was elected secretary and Round Lake Beach Mayor Rich Hill was elected treasurer. The organization is a council of 42 Lake County cities and villages working to improve government operation through information sharing and networking, intergovernmental cooperation, and advocacy for the common interests of its membership. The board is comprised of eight mayors or presidents and one village or city administrator. Directors are: Maria Lasday, village administrator of Bannockburn; and mayors Dominic Marturano of Lindenhurst, Wayne Motley of Waukegan, Tom Poynton of Lake Zurich and Donny Schmit of Fox Lake. Associate members are also part of LCML and represent consultants, engineers and equipment suppliers.
