Palatine Attorney Appointed to ABA Committee

Attorney Kerry Lavelle of Lavelle Law, Ltd. has been appointed to a leadership role within the American Bar Association (ABA) Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division. Effective August 7th, Lavelle will serve on the Book Publications Board.

In 2015 the ABA published Lavelle's first book The Business Guide to Law: Creating and Operating a Successful Law Firm. He has since spoken at ABA events on law practice management. Having worked closely with the ABA, Lavelle learned a great deal about both publishing and promoting his work.

“I'm honored to be invited to serve my colleagues at the ABA and to contribute to an area that has become important to me,” said Lavelle. “I've had a great experience working with the ABA on promoting my book and I look forward to becoming more active through this board.”

Lavelle will participate in meetings throughout the year and attend various ABA conferences across the country.

Lavelle's book guides an aspiring practitioner from launch, to growth and expansion, potentially buying, merging or selling a firm, and ultimately having a succession plan. It was heralded as being among the first to view the entire life-cycle of a firm rather than just the start-up phase and also for providing a more contemporary view of areas such as marketing and technology.

Lavelle Law, Ltd. is located in Palatine with an additional office serving clients in the Chicago Loop. The firm was founded in 1989 as a single attorney practice with an emphasis on tax law. The firm has added more than a dozen practice groups including Estate Planning, Business Law, Banking Law, Litigation, Commercial and Residential Real Estate and Law Practice Management. The firm has received numerous awards and commendations for their business success, their commitment to ethics, national recognition for their pro bono services and multiple acknowledgements of the charitable work they do in the local communities.
