A small child drowned at the Downers Grove Swim and Racquet Club on Sunday evening, ABC 7 reports. The child, Anna Trent, 4, was found unconscious in the pool around 7:30 p.m., police said. Full story.
Waukegan police seek information about 2 armed robberies
Two armed robberies took place in Waukegan over the weekend, and police said yesterday it's unclear whether the two are related. The first robbery took place at 8:10 p.m. Sunday when two suspects entered a dollar store on the 2200 block of North Lewis Avenue and robbed it at gunpoint, Waukegan police said in a news release. High hopes as runway rotation plan submitted to FAA
An overnight runway rotation plan is now under scrutiny by the Federal Aviation Administration and could begin in July at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. Residents in neighborhoods under siege by jet noise have been campaigning for relief since 2014. The city's answer is a six-month trial of a weekly runway rotation from 11 p.m. to about 5:30 a.m. that planners predict will distribute the din more evenly around the region. Full story.
