Mt. Prospect assistant to the village manager appointed

Nellie Beckner has been promoted to Mount Prospect's interim assistant to the village manager from her current position of senior village planner.

Beckner's newly created role will be to assist Village Manager Mike Cassady and focus on implementation of the village's strategic plan. She has worked in the village's community development department for more than four years as senior planner and long range planner, focusing on the downtown plan, grant awards, entrepreneurs initiative and Rand Road corridor study, according to the village.

She previously worked as a planner in Palatine and Highland Park.
