Cantigny Golf offers discounts to 'young executives'

Juniors, seniors and veterans have long received special playing privileges at Cantigny Golf. Now "young executives" are feeling the love, too.

Cantigny Golf's Young Executive Program, introduced for the 2016 season, offers golfers age 35 and under a reduced green fee for both 18-hole and 9-hole rounds. Early response has been strong, according to Patrick Lynch, Cantigny head golf professional, who notes that golfers in their 20s and 30s can be an elusive clientele.

"Men and women at that stage of life usually have busy careers and growing families," Lynch said. "Their resources for playing golf are usually limited. Our Young Executive Program provides an incentive to tee it up a little more often and perhaps use Cantigny for customer golf."

Private clubs often dangle lower membership dues to attract young golfers who are building their careers and need a place to entertain clients. Cantigny Golf's Young Executive Program provides an economical alternative. It's free to join, and automatically includes membership in Cantigny's Red Oak Club, a customer loyalty program that awards points toward free golf and other benefits.

"It's really a win-win for 35-and-under golfers for whom golf is part of doing business," said Lynch. "Our young executives get a good deal on golf while earning points that make it easier to treat their clients to a day at Cantigny."

Those eligible can play 18 holes at Cantigny for $75 per player, cart included. The special rate is available Monday through Thursday all day, and after noon on Saturdays and Sundays at 27W270 Mack Road, Wheaton. The 9-hole Young Executive green fee is $40, cart included, and is valid for any available 9-hole tee time.

More information about the Young Executive Program is online at www.cantignygolf.com, or by calling the Cantigny Golf Shop at (630) 260-8197. For a limited time, golfers can get a free 9-hole round just for signing up. The number for tee times is (630) 668-8463.
