Computerworld ranks Motorola Solutions a top company

SCHAUMBURG - Motorola Solutions ranks among the top 100 places to work in IT in the U.S., according to IDG's Computerworld.

Motorola Solutions was ranked 18th of 50 large organizations ranked. It is the company's first time on the list.

Computerworld's 2016 Best Places to Work in IT rankings are based on surveys of U.S. companies and IT employees on topics including career development, training and benefits. The trade publication has been ranking top work environments for technology professionals since 1994.

In the past year, Motorola Solutions' IT department has introduced new cloud-based, mobile systems and processes that have transformed the way its employees interact with colleagues and customers. This, along with a fun and collaborative culture, contributed to the company's 2016 ranking.

"Increasingly, Motorola Solutions' portfolio relies on services, software and applications," said Eduardo Conrado, executive vice president, Strategy & Innovation Office at Motorola Solutions. "Our IT organization plays a critical role in creating these solutions as an early adopter and incubator as well as a 'talent exporter' to business teams creating products and services built on digital, mobile, cloud and big data."

The company's Schaumburg-based IT employees will relocate to downtown Chicago when Motorola Solutions opens its new corporate headquarters at 500 W. Monroe this summer.

Newsweek also recently named Motorola Solutions to its list of Top U.S. Green Companies. The annual rankings examine the world's 500 largest publicly traded companies, ranking them on corporate sustainability and environmental impact.
