Country music fills the night in Wauconda

Little girls in cowboy boots danced around the lawn as StateLine played a country melody on a cool, beautiful evening Thursday night in Wauconda's Cook Park.

More than 100 people enjoyed the music sponsored by the Wauconda Park District and Wauconda Area Library as part of their Summer Concert Series.

"It's a cooperative program between us and the library," said Sara Schuring, recreation supervisor for the Wauconda Park District. "The past couple of years we started bringing out more family entertainment. It's just a great event for all ages."

The Summer Concert Series is at 7 p.m. every Thursday through August 11. The shows are held at Cook Park for the month of June and at the Wauconda Area Library for the remainder of the series.

For more information about the bands and the concert, visit waucondaparks.com or call the park district at (847) 526-3610.
