Palatine Jaycees seek community involvment at Hometown Fest

The Palatine Jaycees are seeking community members who want to participate in this year's Fourth of July celebration Hometown Fest.

"This is a community event and we want everyone to come out and get involved with Hometown Fest," said Jennifer Hickman, festival co-chair. "We want everyone to know how they can participate in advance so that they can get involved in all our activities."

Some of those activities include The Kathleen A. Blanck Memorial Carnival for Individuals with Special Needs, a private carnival dedicated to members of the community with special needs. It runs from 1 to 3 p.m. on July 1.

Another event is the Arts and Crafts Fair/Business and Charity Expo on Saturday and booths for artists and exhibitors are still available. Applications for booths are available on the Jaycee website at www.hometownfest.org. The fair and expo will be on July 2.

Those interested in donating to the event can send a check payable to the Palatine Jaycees to P.O. Box 1517, Palatine, IL 60078-1517.
