Barrington event on foster parenting June 11

Families interested in becoming foster parents are invited to a free family festival and 5K run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Citizens Park at the intersection of Northwest Highway and Lake Zurich Road in Barrington.

The event is organized by the Barrington-based not-for-profit Let It Be Us.

There will be several social workers and foster parents on hand who can discuss the foster process and the real-life experiences of being a foster parent.
