Schaumburg police ask for help finding sex offender

Schaumburg police on Tuesday asked the public to be on the lookout for a man who committed a sexual assault over the weekend.

Authorities say the man broke into a woman's residence on the 2700 block of Odlum Drive about 3:25 a.m. on Sunday and touched the victim while she was sleeping.

The victim woke up, causing the man to flee.

Police said the man was a stranger to the victim and entered her residence by unknown means and without permission.

The intruder is described as a Hispanic man, 25-35 years old, approximately 5 foot 5 inches tall with a medium build, short "buzz-cut" hair and short facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark-colored T-shirt and blue and white pajama-style pants.

Anyone with information should call police at (847) 882-3534.
