He has never finished in the top 15 at the AT&T Byron Nelson. He has never finished out of the top 15 at Colonial, missing the playoff by one shot last year. ... Phil Mickelson and Rory Sabbatini are the only past champions from the last 10 years who are not playing. ... Adam Scott decided to add Colonial to his schedule, which means it is likely he will take off next week at the Memorial. ... Colonial is the longest-running course to host a PGA Tour event. ... The course also hosted the U.S. Open in 1941, the U.S. Women's Open in 1991 and the second edition of The Players Championship in 1975. ... U.S. Amateur champion Bryson DeChambeau and former Texas Longhorn Kramer Hickok were awarded "Champions Choice" spots, a vote of all past champions. It will not count against the seven sponsor exemptions DeChambeau can receive.

Notes: Ariya Jutanugarn became the second back-to-back winner on the LPGA Tour this year. Lydia Ko was the other, winning the Kia Classic and ANA Inspiration. The last time the LPGA had more than one player win back-to-back was in 2013, accomplished by Inbee Park, Stacy Lewis and Suzann Pettersen. ... Jutanugarn kept alive a youth movement on the LPGA - all 13 winners have been 23 or younger this year. ... Ha Na Jang and Jenny Shin are the only 2016 tournament winners who are not playing this week. ... LPGA history in Michigan dates to the Wolverine Open in 1955. Now it has two tournaments in Michigan. ... The tournament is selling a "ChadTough Orange Ticket" package and will donate $10 from each $30 ticket to the ChadTough Foundation in honor of the grandson of former Michigan Lloyd Carr. ... Jutanugarn was the fourth first-time winner on the LPGA this year.

Last week: Rory McIlroy won the Irish Open by three shots over Russell Knox and Bradley Dredge.

Notes: Four of the top 10 players in the world are members of the European Tour, but three of them are not playing the tour's flagship event - Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson and Justin Rose, who withdrew last week with a mild back injury. It will be the first time McIlroy misses the tournament. He has missed the cut three of the last four years. The other year, he won. ... Masters champion Danny Willett (No. 9) is the highest-ranked player at Wentworth. ... Jamie Lovemark is playing on a sponsor's exemption. It's his first European Tour event (that isn't co-sanctioned with another tour). ... The winner gets an exemption to the U.S. Open and a three-year exemption to the British Open. ... The Harry Colt-designed West Course opened in 1926 and has been renovated in recent years by Ernie Els, who made his first alterations in 2006. ... The field includes Russell Knox, a runner-up last week in the Irish Open.

Last week: Bernhard Langer won the Regions Tradition for his sixth senior major.

Notes: The Senior PGA is the only senior major that Bernhard Langer has not won. The German will try to become the only senior to win all five majors. ... Jack Nicklaus is credited with the Senior Grand Slam, though he never won the Senior British Open. It did not become a senior major until 2003. ... Colin Montgomerie won the last time the Senior PGA was at Benton Harbor in 2014. He won last year at French Lick in Indiana. ... The winner earns a spot in the PGA Championship at Baltusrol in July, along with exemptions to the Senior British Open if not already eligible. ... The Senior PGA is the oldest of the senior majors, dating to 1937 when it was held at Augusta National. It moved to Florida in 1940 and stayed there for 60 years. ... Langer will play with John Daly and Mark Calcavecchia the opening two rounds. ... With his victory last week, Langer moved back to No. 1 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.
