Teen hit by vehicle in Lake Zurich

A Lake County team of police specialists is investigating a crash involving a teenage pedestrian early Saturday.

Lake Zurich police Sgt. Mike Parlberg said the 18-year-old was struck by a vehicle at Rand Road and Pheasant Ridge near the Deerpath Court Shopping Center. He said the teen, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Parlberg said the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is leading the probe of the early Saturday morning accident. Police investigators from different agencies who specialize in crashes are part of the squad.
