Knights of Columbus volunteer at St. Mary

Each year, the St. Mary of Huntley Knights of Columbus provide an usher team for the Easter Vigil held on the evening of Holy Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Huntley.

The Vigil of Easter is the first service of Easter. It is celebrated at a convenient time between sunset on Holy Saturday and sunrise on Easter morning. Celebrated Holy Saturday evening at St. Mary's, it is the dramatic Easter vigil liturgy that marks the beginning of Easter.

The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic family fraternal service organization with nearly 1.9 million members in over 15,100 local councils. Last year, Knights donated 71.5 million volunteer hours and $176.9 million in charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their church, councils, communities, families and youth. From the moment of its founding in 1882, charity has been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus: "We are men of faith and men of action."
