James Stinson, CLU®, CFP®, a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual - Chicago, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of Northwestern University School of Professional Studies CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM program.
The mission of Northwestern University School of Professional Studies (SPS) is to be the lifelong partner of adult learners who seek a superior educational experience at Northwestern University. SPS is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) to provide a financial planning certificate program. Upon completion of the Northwestern University certificate program, students will have met the education requirement for CFP® Certification Examination administered by the CFP Board. The Advisory Board will provide SPS valuable input on trends in financial education and guidance in identifying the critical knowledge and skills needed for CFP®s.
A resident of Park Ridge, Stinson holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana. A firm believer in continuing adult education, he has earned both the Chartered Life Underwriter ® and Certified Financial Planner™ designations. He has been a representative with Northwestern Mutual - Chicago since 2006 and serves on the financial planning firm's leadership team as a Field Director.
