Harvest Christian celebrates 31 graduates

Harvest Christian Academy awarded diplomas to 31 students Sunday during the Elgin school's seventh graduation ceremony.

A ministry of Harvest Bible Chapel, the school's first graduating class was in 2010.

Ellie Burzlaff of Elgin was valedictorian and Tessa Pfortmiller of Elgin was salutatorian.

During the ceremony, school officials gave out the Ariel Award - stands for Lion of God - to a student chosen by the senior class and high school faculty and administration.

Hannah Nelson of South Elgin received the plaque for demonstrating a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidence spiritual maturity, and exemplifying servant leadership among her peers.
