Streamwood Native Elizabeth Gresey Selected to Participate in ASRT Student Leadership Development Program in June

Elizabeth Gresey, Streamwood native, Chicago resident and radiologic technology student at Wilbur Wright City College of Chicago, has been selected to participate in the American Society of Radiologic Technologists 2016 Student Leadership Development Program.

The ASRT represents more than 153,000 members who perform medical imaging procedures or plan and deliver radiation therapy treatments. The Society also provides radiologic technology students with the tools, services and support they need to prepare for careers in medical imaging and radiation therapy.

Gresey will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2016 ASRT Educational Symposium and Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting, June 23-26, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, Gresey will attend educational courses specifically designed for students, attend the House of Delegates meetings and be assigned a professional mentor.

Gresey was one of 99 radiologic science students from around the country chosen to participate in the program.

"Congratulations! It is my fervent hope that this experience will mark the beginning of a long and productive relationship with your national professional organization, the ASRT," said ASRT President Sandra Hayden, M.A., R.T.(T), FASRT

Elizabeth was also recently honored at the Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologist's Annual State Conference last month for her outstanding academic achievement and was awarded a regional state scholarship to aid in the cost of her education.

Elizabeth will be graduating from the radiography program at Wright College this August and has plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Imaging Sciences degree from Rush University in Chicago.
