New York Rangers rookie Oscar Lindberg has hip surgery
NEW YORK (AP) - New York Rangers rookie forward Oscar Lindberg has had surgery to repair a hip labral injury.
General Manager Jeff Gorton announced the surgery on Friday, saying the 24-year-old would be sidelined six months.
Lindberg had 13 goals and 15 assists in 68 games. His plus-12 rating was second among NHL rookies.
The surgery was performed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
