Democrats' Trump paranoia in full display
The fury and hatred of Donald Trump emanating from the Democratic press reminds me of Republican Barry Goldwater's campaign for president against Lyndon Johnson.
Democrats in both parties could not contain their anger against this conservative upstart. Mitt Romney's father condemned Goldwater just as Mitt denounced Trump a few weeks ago. The press ran articles on psychologists who diagnosed him with mental illness without ever having had personal contact with him. The emotional atmosphere grew so heated that in Chicago, on the Eisenhower Expressway, a motorist stopped a driver, pulled him out of his car and beat him up, because he looked like Barry Goldwater.
So, Goldwater lost to Johnson whose term in office ended in disgrace. Nevertheless, Goldwater paved the way for Ronald Reagan, who proved himself a powerful spokesman for the cause of limited and constitutional government. The Democratic press tried to convince the public that Reagan, like Goldwater, would start World War III. Well, WWIII did not happen, and the Russians gave up communism on his watch, anyway.
Most certainly, Trump has forced the exposition of the psychological pathology which animates Democrats. Usually, they hide it and appear normal. Not now. The mental illness is on full display, the paranoia, the delusions of grandeur, and the mindless aggression as seen in Democratic gatherings. And yet, these people now run the most powerful government the earth has ever seen. The future does not look good.
