Create STEM project in honor of Edison

Children can make a STEM project at After School Adventures, "Thomas Edison," from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson St.

Thomas Edison is best known for the electric light bulb, but there are more than 1,000 U.S. patents in his name. In honor of this inventor, come create a battery-operated project. The program is designed for children ages 5-12 with an adult.

Cost is $3 per child for nonmembers, $2 for members. For information, call (847) 391-5399 or visit desplaineshistory.org.
