Law simply aims for equality for Christians

I recently read where a contributor to the Opinion section was opposed to the passing of the Religious Restoration Freedom Act in several states. The contributor was concerned about the discrimination and the killing that is being done in the name of religion.

The contributor prefers that religious people do what the Bible tells them to do. They should preach the Bible to people. They should not discriminate against people and they should not kill people who do not believe in their god.

It is important to discern that the religious freedom bill is not a tool of radical Islam. It is a protective measure for Christians in America. The Christian church does not discriminate. All people are welcome to come and to learn about the ultimate mission of the Christian church. They are welcome to come and to learn about Jesus, the savior of all humankind.

Christians do not kill those who reject Christ. Christians are commanded when a person rejects Christ to "shake off the dust" and carry the gospel to the next person.

For Christian Americans, the religious freedom bill is not a license to discriminate or to kill those who reject Christ. The bill seeks to give Christians the same rights and representation that all other organized groups here in America have.

Black Lives Matter, LGBTs, and all the other groups demand and receive the right to a public platform. These groups demand and receive equal representation for their demands by those elected to serve all Americans. Christians do not desire to discriminate or to kill. All that the sincere followers of Christ desire as U.S. citizens is equal rights and equal representation in this post-Christian America.
