Boys volleyball: Grayslake Central makes history with tourney triumph

Grayslake Central at Rockford East: Grayslake Central, in its first year as a program, earned the first tournament trophy in program history by winning the Division II championship at the Rockford East tournament.

The Rams ended the tournament with a 3-1 record, defeating Quad Cities (25-17, 26-24), Boylan (25-17, 19-25, 15-10) and Illinois Math and Science (25-17, 21-25, 15-10).

On the day, Keegan Zack had 34 kills, Bobby Fortman had 25 kills and Ethan Rockel and Danny Lantz added 15 and 13 kills respectively.

Setters Johnny Wong and Matt Kozak finished with 35 and 33 assists respectively.

Zack also tallied 14 service aces.
