Motorcyclist dies in Itasca crash

A motorcyclist died Thursday afternoon in Itasca after hitting a landscaping truck and trailer, fire officials said. The crash happened just after 4 p.m. at Thorndale and Park Boulevard in the construction zone of the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway, Itasca Lt. Rob Pokorny said. Full story.

Lunchtime worker accused of pushing student to ground in Gages Lake

A lunchtime worker at Woodland Elementary West School has been charged with battery for pushing an 8-year-old down twice, police say. The incident happened on April 4 at the school, during the lunch period for second-graders, Lake County sheriff's officials said in a news release. Full story.

A RoomPlace warehouse in Woodridge burned to the ground Thursday evening, as more than 35 fire departments attempted to extinguish the blaze, ABC 7 reported. The fire started around 6 p.m. in the 700,000-square-foot warehouse on the 2500 block of Internationale Parkway. Full story.
