Motorcyclist severely injured in Bartlett crash

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Thursday afternoon that shut down the intersection of Bartlett Road and Route 59 for four hours, Bartlett police said.

The crash happened about 12:30 p.m., when a 20-year-old man driving a Suzuki motorcycle struck a blue Ford Escape, police said in a news release. Police believe the driver of the Ford Escape failed to yield while turning left onto eastbound West Bartlett Road from southbound Route 59.

The driver of the Ford Escape, Donald C. Dick, 89, of Bartlett, was ticketed for failure to yield, police said. He was treated and released from St. Alexius Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation.
