Dodgeball tourney to aid Huntley football player's fight against cancer

Huntley High School hosts a dodgeball tournament Sunday benefiting junior and football player Justin Domingo, who is receiving treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

The tournament is 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the school's new field house, 13719 Harmony Road.

Fundraiser sponsors are the Huntley High School Athletics Boosters, the Gridiron Club and Huntley Mustangs Youth Football.

Domingo has participated in football, wrestling and track at Huntley High.

Registration is $100 for an eight-person team. Register online at huntleymustangsfootball.org or at the school prior to the tournament.

The goal is to raise $5,000 through team participation, individual donations and sponsorships, Huntley Athletic Director Chris Rozanski said.

Earlier this year, Huntley High's Medical Club hosted a fundraising banquet for Domingo. Money raised went to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Domingo family.

A gofundme page also has been set up to raise funds toward Justin's medical bills.

"Everybody is just wanting to be so helpful and contribute in their own way," Rozanski said. "Slowly those contributions are coming together."
