Earth Day activities in Lindenhurst

The Lindenhurst's Environmental Activity & Education Commission will host the annual Earth Day celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the village hall/public works garage, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road. The event begins with a villagewide cleanup and an Earth Day 5K, followed by free refreshments, kids' activities, such as a kite fly, raffles and prizes, and booths with information and giveaways. Tours of the police department and wastewater treatment plant will be offered. Recycling for plastic bags, hangers, shoes, clothing and household items will be available.
