Columnist distorts Clinton record

The Herald continues to give Gene Lyons a forum to promote blatantly false information regarding Hillary Clinton's grossly negligent handling of classified information.

There are three main points one should consider objectively before forming an opinion:

1) By the very nature of the position of secretary of state, once she chose to create a private, secret, unsecured server to handle ALL of her communications, she knowingly put some classified information at risk. That is unavoidable.

2) One email clearly has her directing a subordinate to remove the classified marking on a document and then forward to her. This empirical evidence goes to both intent to circumvent the system and deceive, and also to possible conspiracy for recruiting the action of others.

3) The Clinton apologists saying documents NOW marked classified are irrelevant are promoting a false argument, because these documents have not been reviewed previously. This is the first time they are available to be scrutinized and over 2,000 contain classified information, 22 Top Secret.

Gene Lyons' continued false representations about the work of the FBI and other agencies is both a disservice to the Herald readers and objective journalism.
