TMA Recognized by Chicago City Council and Illinois House for 90th Anniversary

SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) this week was honored by both the Illinois House of Representatives and the Chicago City Council, who passed resolutions marking of the Association's 90th Anniversary. This recognition comes on the heels of a similar resolution passed last month by the Cook County Board of Commissioners. The House Resolution was sponsored by Representative Marcus Evans, Jr. (33rd District), while 36th Ward Alderman Gilbert Villegas sponsored the City Council Resolution. Both legislative bodies noted the ongoing significance of the Schaumburg-based TMA, a nonprofit organization founded in 1925.

The resolutions state in part "TMA has served as a valued source of employee learning and development for member companies and has evolved into a leader in hands-on training and workforce development by continually expanding the scope of TMA's educational offerings to meet the evolving needs of its members and manufacturing students of all walks of life."

"TMA is honored to have been recognized by the Chicago City Council and the Illinois House, and we look forward to 90 more years of serving manufacturers and their employees throughout Illinois," said TMA President Steve Rauschenberger.

About TMA:

Eight small manufacturing companies who thought they could better themselves by associating with one another founded TMA in 1925. Through the years, members established programs and services to help their businesses grow and prosper, train their employees, and provide medical and retirement benefits. TMA has grown into an almost 1,000 member not-for-profit organization representing more than 30,000 employees of precision manufacturing and supplier companies throughout Illinois.
