Two found shot in Barrington

Two people were shot and hospitalized early Sunday morning in Barrington, police said.

According to Barrington police, officers were called to the area of Route 14 (Northwest Highway) and Shorely Drive at 3:09 a.m. on reports of a possible shooting. Two victims found at the scene were taken with the assistance of the Barrington Fire Department to the hospital for treatment, police said.

The extent of their injuries is not known at this point in the investigation, police said.

The Barrington Police Department along with the Cook County Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) are investigating the case.
