Look for compromise in Des Plaines

What is happening in our local politics mirrors what is happening on state and federal governments. I wonder what would it take to compromise with our opponents? Des Plaines has covered elected officials for decades. Yes, benefits are costly. Could the city cover 40 percent and the elected official 60 percent? Could we come to the table and see if the city could save money and the elected officials keep benefits? Why not?
