Lake Zurich hydrant flushing

Lake Zurich plans to start its annual fire hydrant flushing program Monday, April 18. Officials said the hydrants are flushed once a year to get rid of accumulated sediments, assure they are in proper working order and to verify water quality. The two-week flushing schedule runs until April 29. Visit lakezurich.org to view the detailed neighborhood schedule. Officials said any temporary discoloration in tap water is not harmful, and the village recommends clothes not be washed the day before, the day of and the day after hydrant flushing.
