An Elgin man died after a single-car crash Thursday morning in an unincorporated area near Hampshire Township, police said.

Kane County sheriff's deputies responded just after 9 a.m. to the intersection of Lenschow Road and French Road, police said in a news release.

A 2001 Honda CRV driven by Ronald Suitts, 64, was traveling west on Lenschow Road and failed to stop at the T-intersection with French Road. The vehicle crossed French Road and struck a tree head on.
