District 96 board appointment

Meg Woodman, of Kildeer, has been appointed to the Kildeer-Countryside Elementary District 96 school board to fill a vacancy created by the Feb. 2 death of board member Lauren Gordon. Woodman will hold the seat until the next available consolidated election, in April 2017, when the seat will be elected as a two-year term. Woodman has been an active participant in her three children's District Parent Teacher Organizations and the District 96 Parent-to-Parent Network, taking on varied leadership roles in her volunteer work, officials said. She also has served as the school board's representative to the district's parent review committee in presentations related to curriculum, assessment, academic reporting, communication and the home/school connection.
