Emanuel again skirts transparency

Is anyone else concerned or disturbed by the fact that, in selecting a new police superintendent, Mayor Rahm Emanuel once again has circumvented a system that was in place?

Even more disturbing is the fact that the aldermen in Chicago by and large think that this OK. What about all those protests led by politicians screaming for transparency in city government?

Now because the mayor chose someone they can "live with," it is fine that Emanuel ignored the procedures for picking a new superintendent. Certainly no transparency at work here.

As a retired Chicago police officer and citizen I am tired of two-faced politicians demanding things, however, when it suits them it is OK to do whatever you want!

Deflecting blame, not taking responsibility, complaining when you don't get your way seems to be the political way in Chicago. Doesn't that sound exactly like the behavior of a child?
