Baseball: Tuesday's Fox Valley roundup

Junior Noah Davison helped Geneva get off to a good start in Upstate Eight Conference River play, pitching 6 innings of 2-run ball in a 13-3 win over Streamwood on Tuesday.

Davison struck out 8 and walked 2.

Justin Hasegawa and Jack Wassel both hit home runs, and Wassel also doubled as part of his 5-RBI day. A.J Hostman doubled twice.

Adam Sojda had a double and scored 2 runs for the Sabres. Tim Crom and Junior Alvarez drove in runs.

Cary-Grove 5, Woodstock 0: Daniel Schmidt didn't allow a hit or a walk in a 7-inning perfect game, striking out 10. He only needed 80 pitches.

Quinn Celske went 3-for-4, and Matt McCumber drove in a pair of runs.

Burlington Central 10, Marengo 0: The Rockets scored 7 times in the fourth to end the game early. Craig Schuring threw a 5-inning no-hitter, striking out 4 and walking 3.

Ryan Knowlton had 2 of the Rockets' 4 hits and also drove in 2 runs. Clay Milas and Killian Vasica both scored 2 runs.

Dundee-Crown 3, Conant 2: The Chargers scored all 3 of their runs in the fourth for the win. Matt Wiechmann worked the first 6 and 2/3 innings with 5 strikeouts before Erik Hedmark got the final out on a strikeout.

Nobody had more than 1 hit for Dundee-Crown. Hedmark and Sean Jay doubled, and Andrew Zimmer had the only RBI.

St. Charles East 5, Palatine 1: Kyle Tiltges went 3-for-4, and Anthony Adduci, John Carroll and Austin Gift both had 2 hits for the Saints, whose top 4 hitters combined to go 8-for-16.

Adduci blasted a home run and drove in 2. Steve Podany pitched the final 4 innings, allowing no runs with 5 strikeouts to pick up the win.

West Aurora 3, Yorkville 2: The Blackhawks scored a run in each of the first three innings, then held on as the Foxes scored once in the top of the seventh.

The Blackhawks bashed 13 hits led by a perfect 4-for-4 day from No. 2 hitter Ryan Becker. Leadoff man Logan Love was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Jake Lipscomb also had 2 hits.

Trevor Hannan pitched a complete game, throwing 98 pitches and finishing with 8 strikeouts and just 4 hits allowed.

Jacobs 20, Woodstock North 2: The Golden Eagles put the game away with a 14-run seventh inning.

Daniel Salomon homered, doubled twice and drove in 7 runs. Stevie Krueger also had 4 hits.

Krueger, Mike Addante and Cameron Wilson all had 2 RBI while Casey Dennison, Adam Kale and Loen Nelson all scored 3 runs.

Brad Demkovich fanned 9 in his 5 innings of work.

Aurora Central Catholic 7, IC Catholic Prep 4: Sean Sinisko threw a complete game, giving up no earned runs while striking out 11.

Jake Smith (3-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBI), Johnny Belskis (3-for-4, 2 runs) and Austin Berens (2-for-4, 2 runs) all had big days at the plate. Berens and Michael Bieterman both tripled.

Aurora Christian 10, Christian Liberty 4: The Eagles trailed 4-1 before scoring 6 times in the fifth and 3 more in the sixth.

R.D. Lutze fanned 10 in 4 innings before giving way to Drew Wagner who struck out 7 in his 3 innings. Wagner went 3-for-4 at the plate, and Drew Henning was 2-for-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, Jacob Brothers doubled and had 2 RBI, and Ethan Stoneberg drove in 3.

Westminster Christian 6, Luther North 1: Matthew Schulenburg (3 hits, 2 RBI), Theron Dorsey (2 hits, RBI) and Mason Runkel (double, 2 RBI) were among the top hitters for Westminster Christian.

Justin Rasmussen struck out 12 in his 5 2/3 innings of work, and Nathen Martinez added 2 more without allowing a hit while closing out the win.

Christian Life 7, Harvest Christian 6: After Harvest Christian scored 3 times in the top of the seventh to take a 6-5 lead, Christian Life scored twice in the bottom of the inning for the win.

Jack Nohava went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI and Grant Young was 2-for-3 with a run for the Lions. Dayne Frederick scored twice.

Naperville North 5, South Elgin 1: Jack Stancl struck out 9 in his 6 innings allowing only 1 unearned run. The Huskies broke a 1-1 tie with 4 runs in the top of the seventh.

Nate Gomez drove home Mitch Butvilas with the only run for South Elgin.
