Palatine American Legion collecting food for township pantry

Throughout the month of April, the Palatine American Legion Post 690 will be holding a food drive for the Palatine Township Food Pantry.

According to a news release, a tub marked for donations will be placed in the entry way of the legion's downstairs clubroom located at 122 W. Palatine Road.

"Even if you are not a legion member, bring a donation and stay for a drink," Mary Beth Richardson, one of the food drive co-chairs, said. "You don't have to be a legion member to enjoy our hospitality."

The Palatine Township Food Pantry provides assistance to anyone in need living within Palatine Township's boundaries. The pantry has served an average of 345 families each month during the past year. The needs of the food pantry vary during the year, but any donation is appreciated.
