Family member: Round Lake bones ‘nothing sinister'

The likely-human remains found last week on a Round Lake-area property is “nothing sinister,” according to a woman who grew up there and says the bones belonged to her dad. The daughter of Harold Spinney Jr. says her dad found the bones while on vacation in the 1940s. “That's just my dad. He collected strange things. It's not foul play,” said Bonnie, who asked that her last name not be used for privacy reasons. Full story.

West Dundee bank latest hit in string of robberies

The man suspected of robbing a Carol Stream bank and three others in Chicago struck again Tuesday in West Dundee, authorities said. The FBI says the man robbed the TCF Bank branch inside the Jewel-Osco at 1250 W. Main St. at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. No weapon was displayed. Full story.
