Driver hospitalized after rollover crash in Buffalo Grove

A woman was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville Sunday morning after a rollover crash in Buffalo Grove.

Buffalo Grove Fire Lt. Scott Olson said crews responded to the two-vehicle crash about 8 a.m. at the intersection of Aptakisic and Buffalo Grove roads.

Olson said firefighters arrived to find a car sitting on its roof on the north side of Aptakisic Road, with its driver buckled inside.

"We didn't have to use extrication equipment (to remove her)," he said. "Pure manpower."

The female driver was taken by ambulance to Condell to check for injuries. Buffalo Grove police said the woman possibly broke her arm in the crash. The other driver was not transported for treatment.

Police said the driver of the second vehicle, who has yet to be named because the report is still in process, was ticketed for disobeying a red light.

According to police, the woman was driving a Chevrolet Classic in the eastbound lanes of Aptakisic Road when she was sideswiped by the driver of a Chevrolet Impala, who was making a right turn from Buffalo Grove Road onto Aptakisic Road.
