Blame rhetoric buy-in if Trump's elected

Thank you for your editorial in the March 22 edition DuPage County. For several months I have been concerned and troubled about the excessive coverage that all of the media has given Donald Trump.

When did the guidelines change that says each candidate was to be given "equal" time? Every time you turned on the TV you were bombarded with loud, disrespectful, uninformed blather from Mr.Trump. The media interviewers and commentators all acted like he was so special and had such wonderful ideas about the future of our government.

When we never did hear about his plans. Why were the other candidates that needed to be heard not given time? If Trump is elected it will be because of the media and the followers who bought in to his rhetoric, not because of his credentials.

Having said this, I have been a registered Republican all my life and am convinced that most of the Trump supporters are responding on an emotional level without considering what our future will hold.

The other topic that needs to be addressed by the citizens of this country is the absolute absurd amount of money that has been spent on political campaigns especially this year but also in past years. When will be put some limits on the amount of time and money that each candidate can spend? Other countries do this and common sense tells us that we could and should do something. There is only so much a candidate can say - as we have heard at the debates which are so counterproductive.

Do continue to set an example for the other newspapers.
