Schaumburg offers class to help people cope with chronic illness
The Village of Schaumburg invites the public to take part in a six-week program that allows participants to learn how to thrive with chronic illness.
Offered by AgeOptions and the village, the program begins Friday, April 1, with a free 2.5-hour workshop that will be held for six weeks. Participants will learn from trained class leaders who have experience living with chronic illness. Information offered will include: how to address problems related to your ongoing health condition; brainstorm ways to communicate with family and friends about how you feel; and understand how to manage medication, nutrition and new treatments.
Classes will be held at 9:30 a.m. each week beginning April 1 at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. Participants are asked to register by calling the library at (847) 923-3347. Questions regarding the content of the program may be directed to Cindy McCune at (847) 923-3760.
