Lisle collecting old, damaged American flags

The Lisle Convention & Visitors Bureau will collect old American flags through May 27 and deliver them to Boy Scout Troop 99.

The flags then will be disposed of in a flag retirement ceremony in conjunction with the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony on May 30 in the village's downtown.

Residents who have old flags that have become worn beyond repair may drop them off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays in the collection box in the village hall lobby at 925 Burlington Ave.

For details, call Katie Palombit, bureau services coordinator at (630) 769-1000 or email palombit@stayinlisle.com.
