Lavelle Law Attorneys to Assist Small Business Program

Lavelle Law, Ltd. in Palatine has committed resources to assist entrepreneurs with business start-ups through the Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at William Rainey Harper College. Lavelle attorneys will staff the center's help desk several hours each month in addition to presenting on small business topics at upcoming seminars.

Lavelle Law attorney Heather Glaser has worked with the SBDC to get the relationship started.

"We will present on commercial leases and exit planning at seminars in the next few months and have several of our attorneys at the help desk at scheduled times beginning in March," said Glaser. "We look forward to helping new businesses overcome some of the uncertainty and hurdles that they may face."

Joan Dubnicka, Small Business Advisor for the SBDC program welcomes the input.

"We know that Lavelle Law is highly regarded in the community and they have been recognized at the national level for their pro-bono work, so we feel that our participants will be well-served by the expertise the attorneys can provide."

The Illinois Small Business Development Center at William Rainey Harper College offers no-cost, confidential, one-on-one guidance and workshops to help small business owners achieve marketing, financial and operational success.

Kerry Lavelle, a partner at Lavelle law and former adjunct professor at Harper College, is pleased to offer the firm's assistance.

"We are launching a new Entrepreneurial Law practice group to focus on the unique needs to business start-ups so this opportunity works very well for us. We have been serving clients through our Small Business practice group for many years but with a rapidly changing business environment, a focus on entrepreneurial law in very timely."

The Lavelle presentations will take place April 7th and June 7th at 9:00 a.m. Attorneys from the firm will be on hand at the Help Desk on April 19th, May 17th and June 21st from 10:00 a.m. to noon in addition to the days they assisted in January and March.
